BUBBLES NOT RICE - Titusville, PA, USA
DANCE - Titusville, PA, USA
A BREAK FROM THE RECEPTION - Titusville, PA, USA I managed to steal the bride & groom for a few minutes from the reception right as "magic hour" was coming to a close. Got that blue in the sky by setting the camera's white balance to tungsten and using CTO gels on the three speedlites to compensate. It had just been raining and, as much as I wanted to avoid it, the only way I could get the angle that I wanted was by sitting down in the mud. However, since I was already totally and repeatedly drenched in sweat and grime from a hectic summer's day of shooting, I doubt that the mud was any dirtier than me. The first time I edited this I discovered banding, which is what happens when you do edits that are too extreme and there is not enough data to create a smooth transition in an area that contains a gradual shift in darkness. To avoid this, it helps to process a RAW file, rather than a JPG, and to edit in 16bit, rather than 8bit, and to try and get everything as close to the way you want it in-camera, so that you aren't tempted to go to extreme while editing.
