SUNSET IN SPLIT - Split, Croatia

POND AND TAJ MAHAL - Agra, India

VIEW FROM WHALE WATCH CRUISE - Honolulu, Hawai'i, USA This was the best result from my attempt to take a shot while the boat was in motion with a fairly long shutter speed (1/8th of a second), in order to try and get some blur in the water while keeping Honolulu as sharp as possible. I used up a lot of frames, and later a lot of time cloning out the enormous amount of dust spots that showed up on the sensor due to shooting at such a narrow aperture (f/32). I really need to take the camera in for a cleaning...

HAYSTACK ROCK & NEEDLES - Cannon Beach, OR, USA Apparently part of "The Goonies" was filmed here. While shooting this, the tide kept creeping in (quite suddenly at times) and I kept having to move the tripod further and further back.

ARC DE TRAFIC - Paris, France Here's a long exposure composite shot of the Arc de Triomphe taken on a night in Paris. Note that this is probably not the safest spot to hang out and take pictures.

GONDOLAS AT DUSK - Venice, Italy

LA SAGRADA FAMILIA - Barcelona, Spain I'd like to think that the reflection in the water represents Gaudi's vision, since the construction towers aren't quite as evident there.

BACKWATER BOATS - Allepey, India

PIER - Moal Boal, Philippines For this (unedited) shot I put one strobe at the end of the pier to light up the inside of the roof and held out one over the water off-camera right. Both had CTO gels. See more from the Philippines here.

EMPIRE STATE BUILDING AT SUNRISE - New York City, NY, USA Although I did some photoshop work on this one (perspective/lens distortion correction, sharpening, slight contrast adjustment), the color here is pretty much straight out of the camera--I even desaturated it slightly because I thought the original was a little too bright. This was taken from the roof of my friend's apartment building. I had to talk to about three different people to get the door unlocked and it was horribly cold up there, but I'm glad I went. Unfortunately for me, the two best times of day for taking pictures outside are around sun-up (when I'd normally be sleeping) and sun-down (when I'd normally be eating).

KREMLIN AT DUSK 2 - Moscow, Russia While I sharpened and added a touch of contrast to this photo, as well as removing some dust spots due to a dirty sensor, the colors here are essentially unchanged from the original in-camera jpg.
